OXFORD, Maine (September 16, 2005) - The forecast of occasional rain throughout the weekend prompted Oxford Plains Speedway owner Bill Ryan to postpone Saturday's race at the historic, 3/8-mile oval a day early.
The New England Dodge Dealers International SuperModified Maine Classic has been cancelled. It was also rained out on Saturday, August 20, and there are no remaining available dates common to both ISMA and OPS this race season.

    The 10th annual New England Dodge Dealers Little Guy 100s have been moved to Sunday, October 2 at 1 p.m.

    "We were all very excited to see the ISMA cars come to Oxford again, and we are sorry that the weather hasn't cooperated with us this year," Ryan said. "With the cost of travel what it is right now, it didn't seem fair to ask the ISMA teams, officials and fans to come all the way up here again for a race we suspected we might not be able to get in."

    Late Model Stock, Limited Sportsman, Strictly Stock and Mini Stock drivers still have their shot at the open competition Little Guy events, each paying $1,000 to the winner.

    The two-week delay gives some of those competitors a chance to compete in another significant big-money race next weekend.

    "We know that many of our competitors and fans are planning to attend the PASS Pullen Heavy Industries weekend at Beech Ridge, so we were careful to accommodate them," said Ryan. "And scheduling the race for Sunday afternoon instead of Saturday night seems the best choice given the cooler weather at this time of year."

    Admission for the New England Dodge Dealers Little Guy 100s will be as follows:

    Adult, front gate: $10
    Children, 6 to 12, front gate: $5
    Six and under: Free
    Pit gate (with license): $25
    Pit gate (without license): $30

    Individuals who purchased tickets or pit bracelets on August 20 are entitled to a refund. Anyone presenting a ticket at the front gate October 2 will receive a ticket to the race, a $15 rebate for adults and $5 for children.
Anyone presenting a pit bracelet from August 20 at the back gate will receive $5 rebate and a new pit bracelet.
